Cross behind the pulpit in the sanctuary of St. Luke.

Bible Study class at St. Luke.

SCRIPTURE IS EMPHASIZED.
The Bible and its teachings are central to all that we do; it is the
foundation of our preaching and teaching and gives direction to our
outreach. In keeping with our Methodist heritage, we use tradition,
reason, and experience to help us better understand the Word of God,
which is, itself our primary authority.
ACTIVE YOUTH AND CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES. We have been blessed with many young people
and excellent people to work with them and help them grow in the faith.
The variety of activities, which we offer at all ages, makes St. Luke
a church where children and youth want to be.
INSPIRING MUSIC
PROGRAM. Musical offerings at St. Luke cover a great variety
of styles-all designed to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ and
enhance our worship of God. Also, if you have a desire to use your voice
to sing our Lord's praise, we offer numerous opportunities.
NEEDS ARE MET
LOCALLY AND WORLDWIDE. The original St. Luke was a doctor. We
also see it as our calling to minister to people's hurts. We have a
number of programs designed to touch the hurting, not only in our own
church family, but in the greater Lexington community as well. We are
also a mission-minded church, and many of our members have gone abroad
to spread the good news of Christ.
TEACHING CHURCH.
With three different Sunday School hours on Sunday morning as well as
a Wednesday night program and numerous small Bible study groups, there
are many opportunities to learn more about the Bible and how to apply
it to life. We are convinced that being a faithful disciple of Jesus
requires a sound knowledge of the Word.
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
ARE SHARED. In a church as active and expanding as ours, there
are many jobs to be done, and more workers and leaders are always needed.
It is our conviction that the Lord's work is not just for preachers.
All believers, men and women alike, have talents to be used for God's
glory.
UNIQUE WORSHIP.
Our three Sunday morning services, as well as other worship opportunities,
are a blend of the best elements of the traditional and the contemporary.
We believe that worship can be both beautiful and relaxed.
KEEPING IN STEP
WITH THE SPIRIT. We believe that our relationship with God must
come first; everything else we do in His name must flow from that relationship.
We seek to help develop lives of prayer in which the Holy Spirit is
able to take leadership of every aspect of daily living.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME.
This is a loving, caring, and welcoming fellowship. We have many
small group opportunities in which you can become part of a supportive
circle of Christian friends. No matter what your previous church background
or experience might be, you can find a home here.
