Working through the General Board of Global Ministries
of the United Methodist Church, St. Luke has sent members on numerous
teams to build schools, churches and housing in many countries throughout
the world.

The United Methodist Church sends teams of doctors
and nurses to impoverished countries to treat those in need.
|
St. Luke hosts and staffs an emergency food distribution
center in Lexington. Additionally, the congregation supports The Methodist
Home, The Hope Center, Nathaniel Misson, Bluegrass Youth for Christ,
the Wesley Foundation and many other worthy organizations locally.

Members from St. Luke have participated in mission
trips to work with the people from several Indian reservations.

Robert and Linda Spitaleri, members of St. Luke, have
been accepted as missionaries for the United Methodist Mission Society.
Robert, who is an agricultural specialist and Linda, who is a RN, have
been assigned to a mission compound in Tanzania.

The people of St. Luke actively support Habitat
for Humanity. St. Luke has sponsored a home and has assisted in the
construction of countless others.
