All people desiring membership are asked to participate in our Faith Walk classes designed to educate and assimilate folks into the life of the church. Small group, worship and Sunday School participation are expected of all members. Please contact the church office for more information regarding membership.
There are three ways to become a member of any United Methodist church.
bullet Confession of Faith: A person seeking to be saved from their sins and sincerely desiring to be a Christian in faith and practice are proper candidates for full membership in the United Methodist Church.
bullet Transfer from Another Denomination: A person who has made a confession of faith and been baptized into another denomination may transfer his/her membership into The United Methodist Church. (You do not have to be re-baptized.)
bullet Affiliate Membership: A United Methodist living temporarily in a community may, upon request, be enrolled as an affiliate member. Such membership shall entitle the person to the fellowship of this church, to its pastoral care and oversight, and to participation in its activities, including the holding of office except such office which would place one on the Administrative Council or Administrative Board, but would retain his/her membership at his/her home church. Associate Membership: A member of another denomination living temporarily in a community may, upon request, be enrolled as an associate member and is entitled to the same privileges as the affiliate member.
Come worship with us at St. Luke!

The Meaning of Membership

When persons unite with a local United Methodist church, they profess their faith in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, and in the Holy Spirit. They covenant together with God and with the members of the local church to keep the vows which are a part of the order of confirmation and reception into the Church:

To confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and pledge their allegiance to his kingdom;

To receive and profess the Christian faith as contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament;

To promise according to the grace given them to live a Christian life and always remain faithful members of Christ's Holy Church; and

To be loyal to The United Methodist Church and uphold it by their prayers, their presence, their gifts, and their service.
