Children

We offer a wide variety of opportunities for our children and their families such as Family Game Night, St. Luke's Funniest Home Videos, Lexington Legends games, Family Movie Night and Little Night's Comedy to name a few.

Nurseries, Sunday School, God's Playground and God's Backyard are all provided for our children on Sunday mornings. Other programs include children's choir and Christmas pageant, Wednesday night GROW classes, Vacation Bible School, Summer Servants, 5th Grade Club, Easter Egg-stravaganza, Confirmation Camp, puppet team, and 3rd Grade Bible Buddies.

Nurseries

St. Luke's staff of experienced, caring and dedicated individuals cares for our infants through two year olds. The loving hands of many volunteers are vital to this ministry. Our nursery is available during each worship service. A security-paging system is in place to provide you with peace of mind.

Sunday School

We offer a wide variety of programs for our children in Kindergarten through 5th grades. In Sunday School, these children are learning age appropriate spiritual truths and how they can apply them to their life. Children's Worship Bulletins are available each if you would like your child to attend "Big Church."

God's Backyard

This worship service designed specifically for children in grades K-5, is held in Fellowship Hall. Its purpose is to draw children closer to Jesus by teaching them how to worship and how to apply worship to their everyday lives. Songs, hymns, prayers, scripture memory, a message, small groups and special surprises are all a part of God's Backyard. For more information, visit godsbackyard.com.

Vacation Bible School

St. Luke does VBS a little bit different than most churches. We have our VBS at Gainesway Community Center off Centre Parkway. This will be our 4th summer there. We love having the opportunity to take Jesus into the community rather than waiting for the community to come to us. It takes a great team of volunteers to make it all come together and we are blessed that the congregation has caught this vision. We even helped build a playground there! (By the way, we are known in the community by our bright green shirts.)

Children's Ministry Leadership Team

In the Spring of 2001, St. Luke created a leadership team to better shape our programs and events for our children. This team of outstanding individuals is dedicated to our vision of "Changing the world, one child at a time through excellence in ministry to children."
